When going out to explore, especially in deep places, it is very important to carry torches in your inventory, so you can see in the dark. But torches are useful for many other things , for example to illuminate the surroundings of your house or village to prevent monsters from approaching. Let’s say that torches are essential.
If you want to make torches you need to have a pickaxe, an ax and a work table, otherwise you can forget. If you meet these three requirements you can make torches , as long as you have the materials.
Necessary materials
To make torches you need wooden sticks and charcoal . To get sticks you first have to cut down trees, so you get blocks of wood. Once you have a few wooden blocks you just have to go through the work table to turn them into sticks. For every two blocks of wood you can craft four sticks.
Getting coal takes a little longer. At the time we explained how to achieve it . Pickaxe in hand you have to go to a shallow cave or any other place where there is coal ore and extract the coal by chopping the block.
How to make torches in Minecraft
Now that you have all the necessary materials, it is time to go to the work table. Place the charcoal in the center square and a wooden stick right in the bottom square to make four torches. That’s it! As you can see it is very easy.
You can put torches on all types of walls and on the floor, as long as it is a solid surface. Of course, the torches do not illuminate much , this is something to keep in mind. If you plan to go out at night it is highly recommended to carry a few torches in your inventory.
