If you have an Android phone or an iPhone, the steps to follow to delete your Instagram account are not the same.

Deleting your Instagram account with your Android phone is not that simple. So follow all these steps to achieve this.

1. Go to your app then click on your photo to view your profile. Click on the three horizontal “≡” bars at the top right of your screen then click on “Settings”.
2. A page appears with several options. So click on “Help” then on “Help pages”. You will be redirected to the help pages.
3. Click again on the three horizontal “≡” bars which appear at the top right of your screen then click on “Manage your account” then on “Delete your account”.
4. You will have several possible options. “Temporarily deactivate your Instagram account”, “Delete your Instagram account” and “Access your data on Instagram”. Go to “Delete your Instagram account”.
5. Scroll down then choose Instagram from a mobile browser: and click “Delete your account”. You land on the following external page: https://www.instagram.com/accounts/remove/request/permanent/ .
6. Indicate the reason why you are deleting your Instagram account, type your password and click “Delete”.

• Delete your Instagram account with an iPhone

Deleting your Instagram account with your iPhone is easier than with an Android. To do this :

1. Go to the Instagram application then click on your photo, bottom right, to display your profile.
2. Then click on the three horizontal bars “≡”, at the top right of your screen then click on “Settings”. Scroll down to see “account” and click on it.
3. Then click on “Delete account” then again on “Delete account” and “Continue deleting account”.
4. A page is displayed. You will then have to choose the reason for deleting your account, indicate your password and finally click on “Delete account” to delete it permanently.

Deleting an Instagram profile from a computer

To delete your Instagram account via a computer, open your web browser and go to the Instagram help pages . These will redirect you to an external web page so you can delete your account. In other words, you can follow the same steps as those to delete your Instagram account with an Android. This is the first option. Otherwise, go directly  to this page .

In all cases :

• If you haven’t already done so, log in to the Instagram application using your username and password
• In the accounts area, indicate the reason why you want to delete your account
